Information we collect
We collect information that you give us, information created when you use the Service, and information we receive from the providers that help us run Ting.
Account and profile data
When you create an account and set up your profile, we collect the details you provide, which may include:
- Phone number (used to verify your account)
- Email address
- First name and last name, and your username
- Profile photo, cover photo and bio
- Account type (for example tenant, buyer, seller, landlord, agent, agency or builder) and language preference
- Location details you choose to add, such as city and address
- Professional details such as company name, title or business registration number, where relevant to your account type
Some fields are required to use the Service; others are optional and shared only if you choose to add them. Information on your public profile, such as your username, photo and the listings you publish, can be seen by other users.
Content, messages and calls
When you use Ting, we store the content you create and exchange so the Service can work, including:
- Property listings and projects you create, including descriptions and any files or media you upload
- Messages you send in one-to-one and group chats, and any attachments
- Conversations with the in-app AI assistant
- Voice and video calls you make through the Service, which may include call recordings, transcripts and summaries
Usage and device data
When you access the Service, we automatically collect certain technical information, such as your device type and operating system, browser type, IP address, unique device identifiers and diagnostic data, along with how you interact with the Service.
Contacts
Ting includes optional features that help you find friends who already use Ting and invite people you know. These features are entirely optional, and the app never reads or uploads your contacts unless you turn them on.
Before we access anything, the app shows you a clear explanation of what we do with your contacts and asks for your permission. Only if you grant that permission do we upload your contacts — contact names and phone numbers — to our servers. If you decline, no contact data ever leaves your device and you can keep using the rest of the Service normally.
- We use your contacts only to check which of them already have a Ting account, so we can connect you with them, and to let you send an invitation to those who do not.
- We do not use your contacts for advertising or profiling.
- We do not sell your contacts, and we do not share them with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
You stay in control. You can withdraw contacts access at any time in your device settings, and you can ask us at any time to delete the contact data we hold — by emailing privacy@ting.ad or through the Support page. Contacts of yours who are not Ting users are not contacted by us except through an invitation you personally choose to send.

Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser or device settings, although some features may not work without them.
Data retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain information for longer where required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements. You can delete individual messages, and you can ask us to delete your account.
International transfers
Your information may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside your state, province or country, where data protection laws may differ from those where you live. Where we transfer data, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this Privacy Policy.

Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update most of your information directly in your profile, or contact us to exercise your rights. You may also opt out of non-essential notifications.
Security
The security of your data matters to us. We use reasonable, commercially acceptable measures to protect it from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
The Service is not intended for children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above, and significant changes may be communicated through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
